As a responsible angler who has enjoyed fishing at the Lido on and off for the past 40 years and who invariably takes home more rubbish than I arrive with,I feel offended by the behavior of some of the other users and the lack of rules governing their behaviour.I shall however continue to fish te Lido,and be glad that this fascility exists for us to enjoy. The Friends of Ruislip Lido is a voluntary organisation committed to making the Lido a better place but unfortunately can’t control the behaviour you witness of certain individuals; it seems there are now two species of humans, those that show care and consideration and those that couldn’t give a damn. I can not comment on the ranger on his bike, but I have been there when the rangers have dealt with dog walkers who let their dogs go in the water near nesting birds or allowing their dogs to be off the lead in areas where the signage very clearly states “dogs must be kept on the lead”. The rangers do not shirk their responsibilities and spend a good deal of their day cleaning up after others - litter, broken glass and used barbeques discarded in the water.
