Dear Friends

Many thanks to all of you who attended our New Year meeting; it was a great night. For those who were not able to make it, we had two guest speakers, the Chair of Swanlife, who gave a fascinating talk about their work and about the swans themselves. We also had two representatives from the Park Rangers who outlined their responsibilities and took questions from members.

We successfully obtained funding and have now installed the telescope. Hopefully you have been around the Lido and seen it by the Green Huts – there was a queue of children trying to look through it the other day and it is nice to see something with our name on. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Roger Yates for all his work in making this and the bird nesting platforms possible.

We are currently looking at a number of future projects such as more rain shelters and getting a Beach Warden of the summer months. There are also proposals to refurbish the toilets by the beach and I will keep you updated with the progress.

Clear Up Day Sunday 5th April 2009

Meeting at 0830hrs in the car park. Please come along and participate, the idea is to clear the area of litter before the summer months, do some weeding on the paths and get a few new members. Don’t worry if it’s a bit early – we will be out all morning but if you do arrive late please give me a ring on 07904 159776 so we can meet up and give you gloves etc.
