The Ruislip Lido Splash Pad was Officially opened today by Cllr Sandra Jenkins.

The Splash Pad is a project promoted and supported by the Friends of Ruislip Lido and it’s great to see one of the Friends projects reach fruition.

Special mention for

David Seaman for his tireless efforts on behalf of the Friends and for Hillingdon Council for their ongoing support.

The Splash Pad was first report in this blog in March 2008.

The bridge crossing the stream on the far side of Ruislip Lido is being widened. The extra support is in place and old railway sleepers will be laid across to double the width. This will ease access, avoid lengthy waits for courteous walkers standing on opposite sides saying “Please, after you …” and hopefully stop the large puddles developing on the walkway.
