Help for Heroes day at Ruislip Lido
Over £13,000 was raised from the day for Help for Heroes which includes pledges from our lappers, sale of Help for Heroes merchandise, donations for the activities and entries. It is an amazing sum of money and a great effort from everyone who turned out on the day, our lappers and volunteers.
On Willow Lawn at Ruislip Lido there was a free bouncy castle, inflatable fun run and kangaroo boxing area. The face painting went well with lots of people donating money to be transformed into tigers lions and camouflaged army personnel. We were privileged to have members of the Heathrow Military Vehicles trust displaying some of their genuine ex-service trucks and cars.
A number of business and groups are did their bit on the day. This varies from giving their time or services for free, pledging part of any money taken from the day or donating goods and services. All of the following are contributing something extra for Help for Heroes.
- Grimsteads, Aaron distributions Lowa
- Hillingdon Athletics Club
- Friends of Ruislip Lido
- Ruislip Lido Railway Society
- Waitrose (Ruislip)
- Far and Away cakes
- Ruislip Air Cadets (114 squadron ATC)
- Heathrow Military Vehicles trust
- Harefield Dogs Trust
- DJC Sound System
- Stains Lammas Band
